General
Responsibilities:
For this key position, to work in a production support role while learning the Company’s client-facing systems; work with business, creative and other technical team members to carry out all phases of the software development life-cycle; and provide trouble shooting. The production support work will primarily consist of bringing the Company’s currently Forbes 2000 clients online with their executive benefit plans. This involves customized screens and business logic.
Experience and
Education:
· College degree in related field or equivalent experience
· 5+ years experience in development and production support
· 3+ years of paid professional experience of software development utilizing Classic ASP, VBScript and VB6
· 3+ years of paid professional experience of software development utilizing ASP.NET using C# or VB.NET
· Strong Oracle knowledge - SQL, PL/SQL - packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views
· Knowledge of JavaScript, XML, DHTML and CSS is also desired
· Working knowledge of basic network protocols (HTTP, FTP, etc.) and technology
· Working knowledge of application and web security
· Experience with the Software Development Life-Cycle and formal development process (gathering requirements, version control, separate testing environments, push plans)
· Experience with financial record keeping systems is desirable
· Good written and oral communication skills
· Ability to work independently on multiple projects while setting own priorities and tasks
· Good organization and time-management skills
· Team player, with strong project management capabilities
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to the following:
· Designs, modifies and creates software programming applications and reports
· Develop design specifications
· Work with business on defining requirements and features
· Participate in the testing process
· Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
· To develop understanding of business needs and assist in determining the proper design solutions
· Migration of applications to .NET & maintenance of the Company’s .NET code that is written in C#
· Data manipulation will be 30% of your daily duties
